The entire world has come to a standstill due to coronavirus pandemic. The government officials have advised the citizens to stay safe at home as lockdown has also been extended by two weeks till May 3. Amidst this crisis, everybody is hoping for a miracle so that somehow things can go back to normal soon. In the midst of the growing crisis what lies ahead is a sense of fear and uncertainity among people living in every walk of life. Makeup artists and hairstylists, like many other workers in the country, are also grappling with the issue.

Speaking about the unpredictability  factor is celebrity hair and makeup artist Malcolm Fernandes one of the renowned names in the entertainment industry. Sharing his plight Malcolm says, "The freelancer makeup artists and hairstylists are already feeling the long term effects of COVID-19."  Continuing further he says, Almost every single wedding into June that I was suppose to work has been postponed until further notice . Meanwhile, all my shoots are also cancelled till the month of June and with monsoons soon to follow work tends to get slow down. Malcolm who has worked with some of leading names like Pooja Chopra, Shweta Bachchan, Swara Bhaskar, and Erica Fernandes defines the current situation as worse for a freelancing hair and makeup artist and for someone like him who is staying in a expensive city like Mumbai the road ahead looks difficult.
