"Heartbreaking and Traumatic”: Hrithik Roshan Reacts to Mumbai Metro Pillar Collapse

Actor Hrithik Roshan has expressed grief and concern following the tragic metro construction accident in Mumbai’s Mulund area that claimed one life and left three others injured.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Sunday, the actor reshared a video of the incident originally posted by Mid-Day and described the event as “heartbreaking and traumatic.” Extending his condolences to the bereaved family, he also offered prayers for those injured in the mishap.

In his note, Hrithik acknowledged the prompt response by authorities but stressed that stronger preventive measures are essential, especially given the scale of infrastructure work currently underway across the city. He emphasized that safety checks must remain a top priority, particularly on Mumbai’s busiest roads where both workers and commuters are exposed to risk.

Highlighting the importance of accountability and adherence to construction guidelines, the actor said the safety of both construction personnel and the general public must be treated as paramount. He expressed hope that strict protocols would be reinforced to prevent such incidents in the future.

Details of the Incident

The accident occurred on Saturday around 12:15 pm near the Johnson and Johnson factory on LBS Road in Mulund. A parapet section of an under-construction bridge for Mumbai Metro Line 4 collapsed onto vehicles passing below, crushing an autorickshaw and damaging a Skoda car.

The deceased has been identified as Ramdhan Yadav, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Among the injured, Rajkumar Indrajeet Yadav (45) remains in critical condition, while Mahendra Pratap Yadav (52) and Deepa Ruhiya (40) are reported to be stable.

Following the incident, police registered an FIR at Mulund Police Station under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and other relevant provisions. Five officials from contracting firms Milan Road Buildtech and DB Hill LBG have been arrested in connection with the collapse, including project directors and managers overseeing the work.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for the family of the deceased.
