Madhur Bhandarkar has announced the star cast and unveiled the first-look poster of his next motion picture, India Lockdown. The film is said to be inspired by true events of the Covid-19 situation that is prevailing in the world and which led to the lockdown within the country. India Lockdown stars Prateik Babbar, Aahana Kumra, Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Prakash Belawadi, Zarin Shihab and Ayeesha Aimen, among others.The poster shows a big lock dominating the frame as people from different walks of life struggle with their daily chores - from street vendors to people in high society.

Sharing the news of his upcoming feature on Twitter, Bhandarkar wrote, "Film India Lockdown is all set to go on floor next week.  Madhur Bhandarkar  made his directorial debut with Trishakti in the year 1999. His last mainstream title to hit the cinemas was the political-drama, Indu Sarkar, based on Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's declaration of a state of emergency across the nation. Madhur hit the national limelight when he directed the award-winning Chandni Bar, starring Tabu. He later went on make other notable films, like, Fashion, Corporate, Page 3 and Kareena Kapoor starrer Heroine.
