Disney Plus-Hotstar just released the trailer of Hungama 2. The drama-comedy, starring Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Meezaan, Pranitha Subhash, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Ashutosh Rana, has been directed by Priyadarshan. In the past many years, there has been a trend in Bollywood to remake South films. The trend was started by Priyadarshan in the year 2000 with the comedy film Hera Pheri and the filmmaker continues to do so till today.  The director's latest flick Hungama 2 is remake of 1994 Indian Malayalam-language romantic comedy film Minnaram written and directed by Priyadarshan himself. The film was produced by R. Mohan for Goodknight Films.  

The film starred Mohanlal, Shobana, Thilakan, Sankaradi, K. P. Ummer, Jagathy Sreekumar, Geetha Vijayan, Venu Nagavally, and Lalu Alex.The film was also  remade in Tamil, titled as Azhagana Naatkal, directed by Sundar C, starring Karthik and Rambha as main protagonists. Hungama 2 , which marks Shilpa’s comeback to Bollywood after 13 years, will release on July 23, on Disney Plus- Hotstar. Yesterday, Shilpa also shared the first poster of the film along with the announcement of the release date. She wrote, “Can’t keep calm, kyunki ab hoga Hungama! #DisneyPlusHotstarMultiplex #Hungama2 trailer coming out on July 1st on Disney+ Hotstar VIP! You don’t want to miss this!”
