"It Takes Courage to Overcome These Feelings": Mrunal Thakur on Overcoming Body-Shaming Criticism

Although Mrunal is a successful actress in the film industry today, her journey so far was not easy. At the beginning of her career, the actress had to endure criticism based on her body. 

Currently, Mrunal Thakur is in the news for her film 'Do Deewane Sahar Mein'. On this occasion, in an interview given to News 18, the actress said that she had to face body shaming. At this time, she said, "There were days when I used to cry and sleep. When I woke up in the morning, my eyes would be swollen. Moreover, I used to tell myself that I am not worthy of this."

The actress further said, "It takes a lot of courage to overcome these feelings, especially in an environment where you have no one to support you." Mrunal then said that she gradually realized that it is not right to change yourself just for the other person. However, a meeting with Akshay Kumar had changed her entire outlook.

Mrunal credited actor Akshay Kumar for building her self-confidence. Recalling his advice, she said, "When I met Akshay sir, the sentence he told me was very beautiful. He told me, 'I am very happy that you have accepted yourself the way you are. The people around you who distract you or tell you a thousand things... it is very good that you do not pay attention to them and do what you feel. It is okay to lose weight for a role, but it is not okay to change yourself because of someone's taunts." Those words of Akshay Kumar had a deep impact on her mind. It gave her the confidence to choose what is good and bad for herself rather than anyone's pressure.
