Filmmaker Karan Johar revealed that his second directorial venture Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham is the biggest slap in his face and his biggest reality check. “I thought that I’m making the biggest film in Hindi cinema since Mughal-e-Azam until Aamir Khan’s Lagaan and Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai,” he said. “I made the same film as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, that’s what K3G was,” said the director, adding, “I took the storyline of Kabhi Kabhie and the family values of Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! and made this mush of a film.”

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in leading roles. The movie also saw a cameo appearance by Rani Mukerji. The film which released in 2001 was a blockbuster at the box-office and received positive reviews upon its release. On the work front, Karan is all set to don the director's hat once again with Takht after 3 years.  Takht stars Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor in leading roles.
