The ‘mastermind’ behind the alleged Bollywood-drugs nexus is an actor who has also been a supermodel in the past. According to a CNN News 18 report, NCB will be summoning three top male actors soon, one of whom is apparently the mastermind behind the drug cartel. The report further suggested that the three male actors who are under the NCB scanner have worked with Deepika Padukone in films. NCB also has some digital evidence in the form of WhatsApp conversations and the statements of drug peddlers in the case.The channel reported that the NCB is trying to uncover the identities of individuals who are supplying narcotics to various people in the film industry, such as actors, directors and producers.
The alleged ‘mastermind’, the report added, is the ‘big fish at the helm of affairs’, and is supposedly ‘connected to all the local peddlers, and who facilitates the consumption and procurement of drugs in the film industry’. However, NCB is yet to comment or release a statement on this officially. So far, Bollywood actresses Deepika, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh have been interrogated in the drug nexus case. The NCB had launched an investigation into the drugs case after it received official communication from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which was investigating the money trail related to Sushant’s death case. Rhea has said in her bail hearing that Sushant used to consume drugs, and would ask those close to him to procure them for him. Rhea was arrested by the NCB in early September on charges of procuring narcotics substances. Her brother Showik was also arrested along with almost 20 others.
