Superstar Mohanlal has received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, from Amrita Hospital in Kerala. Taking to Instagram, he wrote, "Took the First Shot of Covid Vaccine from Amrita Hospital. I take this opportunity to thank the Government of India, the companies which are producing the vaccine & the medical fraternity, including all hospitals, for their relentless assistance and cooperation shown towards the COVID Vaccination Drive." 

Other Indian celebs who have taken the first dose of the vaccine are Rakesh Roshan, Hema Malini, Satish Shah, Johnny Lever, Shilpa Shirodkar, Ram Charan's wife Upsana among others. Meanwhile, on the work front, Mohanlal after the success of his recent film Drishyam 2, is back on sets and is shooting for Aaraattu. Directed by B Unnikrishnan ‘Aaraattu’ is releasing on August 12. Shraddha Srinath will be seen playing an IAS officer in the film while Nedumudi Venu, Saikumar, Siddique, Ashwin Kumar, Rachana Narayanankutty, Johnny Antony, Vijayaraghavan, Nandu, Swasika, and Neha Saxena are a part of the supporting cast.
