Singer Kanika Kapoor hit the headlines when she was tested positive for the novel coronavirus. A lot of controversy surrounded the singer after it was reported that she hid her travel history and was spending time in partying with friends and affluent personalities. However, the authorities reported that 63 people who came in touch with her has been tested negative. Meanwhile, a lot was said about her friend Ojas Desai  who she met at the party and was reported missing.  However it seems like the Mumbai-based entrepreneur has already been tested. According to a news portal, he is under home quarantine in Mumbai after testing negative for Covid-19. According to PTI, he was present with Kanika Kapoor at a social gathering in a city hotel and the Lucknow police had been searching for him.     

Legal action has also been initiated against Kanika Kapoor. An FIR was lodged against her by Lucknow's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Narendra Kumar Agarwal, at the Sarojini Nagar Police Station, on Friday night under Sections 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant), 269 (negligently acting in a way likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), and 270 (malignant act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code.
