Bollywood actor and producer  Mithun Chakraborty's father Basantakumar Chakraborty passed away in Mumbai after prolonged illness. However, what's even more unfortunate is that Basantkumar's eldest son Mithun is currently stuck in Bengaluru due to the lockdown. While the actor is trying to reach Mumbai for his father's last rites, his elder son, Mimoh is present in Mumbai. The actor was shooting for a film in Bengaluru but had to stay back due to the lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Popular Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta confirmed the news on Twitter and shared a condolence message for Mithun and his family. She wrote, "My deep condolences on the sudden demise of your father, Mithun Da. Stay strong and may his soul rest in peace forever. Basantakumar Chakraborty is survived by his wife Santimoyee Chakraborty, and eldest son Gouranga Chakraborty. Check out actress Rituparna Sengupta's Twitter post here...
