Rukmini Vasanth Says Meeting Yash Was Daunting—But He Made It Effortless

As she gears up for Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, Rukmini Vasanth shared a candid reflection on her first meeting with Yash, her co-star in the project, during a recent interaction. Opening up about the experience, Rukmini admitted that meeting a star of Yash’s stature came with its own sense of pressure. “I think it can be kind of daunting in the beginning… exceedingly daunting. The first time I met Yash sir, I think I walked into the room carrying the legacy of all the work that he’s done before,” she shared.

However, what struck her most was the simplicity in his approach. “They don’t seem to carry the burden of what’s come before. There’s a freshness and lightness they bring to every film, and it’s something you can’t help but absorb,” she said. For Rukmini, this became a defining takeaway. She observed that for someone like Yash, legacy is not a burden but simply a path built over time. “The legacy that they’ve built so far is not really a burden. It’s work that they’ve done… and now they’re completely consumed by what it is that they’re creating at this point,” she added.

Calling it an eye-opening learning experience, she noted that working with established stars offers rare insight into their mindset. “That’s the privilege of working with huge stars—you get to see how they approach their work,” she said. As the two come together for Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, her reflections offer an insight into the easy, grounded approach that defines their collaboration. Rukmini Vasanth is also set to feature in NTR Neel alongside NTR Jr.
