The shoot of Ek Mahanayak - Dr BR Ambedkar was stopped with immediate effect after  actor Jagannath Nivangune tested positive for coronavirus. The medical team has taken samples from others present on the set and is also getting in touch with those who have been in direct contact with the actor.

The production house, Sobo Films, released a statement which reads, “We have always strived to create an environment which is extremely conducive, creative and above all, safe and secure. Considering the pandemic, safeguarding the health of all the people working within our Production Ecosystem, directly or indirectly, has become even more critical while all the necessary precautions were taken across all our sets covering important aspects like hygiene, sanitation, and risk mitigation in line with the guidelines advised by the Government of Maharashtra, it is extremely unfortunate that a member of our crew has contracted the virus. We have directly referred the concerned member to competent medical authorities for immediate treatment and care.”

Earlier,  Sony TV’s Mere Sai also faced a similar  setback after one of the crew members has tested positive for coronavirus. The shoot has been halted and the entire team has been asked to self-quarantine. As per sources, the infected person was part of the direction team. While he was present on the set a few days back, he did not come in contact with anyone after he fell ill. According to government guidelines shooting has to be halted for three days when a member on the TV set tests positive.
