In what came as a devastating loss to the Indian music industry, legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last at 1.04 pm on Friday afternoon in Chennai.Now, according to media reports, the singer’s funeral will take place at his farme house in Chennai’s Red Hills.  His mortal remains are currently at his Kodambakkam residence for public to pay respect. In the medical bulletin released on Friday, the MGM hospital confirmed that SPB had tested negative for COVID-19 on September 4. Since he has tested negative for the virus, the mortal remains will be taken to his residence in Nungambakkam.

Celebrities including  Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar took to social media and expressed how devastated they were to learn the news of the singer’s demise. SPB’s son and actor SPB Charan announced the news while addressing the press in front of the hospital where the singer was receiving treatment. While he was recovering from his illness, the hospital authorities issued a statement last evening saying that SPB’s condition was extremely critical. SPB’s farmhouse at Red Hills will be the venue for friends, family, and other visitors to pay their last tributes to the singer. The family is expecting people from other states to fly down to Chennai to attend the funeral.
