Suriya, who was undergoing Covid-19 treatment at a hospital in Chennai, is back home. His younger brother Karthi took to Twitter to give fans an update on his brother's health. Suriya will be in home quarantine for a few days. On February 7, Suriya took to Twitter to reveal that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus and stated that the Covid-19 pandemic is far from over. His younger brother Karthi took to Twitter to share an update regarding Suriya's health. He wrote, "Anna is back home and all safe! Will be in home quarantine for a few days. Can’t thank you all enough for the prayers and best wishes! (sic)."

On February 7, Suriya took to the micro-blogging site to reveal that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He also wrote that the Covid-19 pandemic is far from over and everyone will have to be safe while venturing out. His tweet in Tamil is translated as, "I am undergoing treatment for Covid-19 and am better now. Let us all realise that life hasn't returned to normalcy yet. We also cannot be filled with fear and let life come to a standstill. We still need to be careful and safe. Lots of love and gratitude to the dedicated doctors and medical staff standing by my side (sic)."On the work front, Suriya was last seen in Soorarai Pottru, which released on Amazon Prime Video on November 12. He now has a village-based with director Pandiraj, Vaadi Vaasal with Vetri Maaran and an untitled film with director Siruthai Siva.
