Thalapathy Vijay meets late actor Vivek's family to offer condolences

On April 17, the entertainment industry lost one of its biggest names in Tamil actor Vivek after the veteran star suffered a cardiac arrest. Soon after the demise of the Padma Shri star went viral, a number of celebs took to social media to pen their condolences. His final rites were attended by many fans and notable personalities of the Tamil film fraternity. The actor's mortal remains were cremated along with state honours. Thalapathy Vijay who had acted in many films with Vivek could not attend the final rites as the former was busy shooting for his film in Georgia. Vijay returned from the first schedule of his film on April 25. And today, April 26, Vijay went to meet the family of Vivek. The actor travelled to Vivek's home located in Virugambakkam, Chennai.

After reaching the late comedy legend's house, Vijay expressed his heartfelt condolences to the former's family. Vijay and Vivek have shared screen space in a lot of films like  Thamizhan (2002), Kuruvi (2008), Kushi (2000), Thirumalai (2003), Aathi (2006), Badri (2001), Youth (2002) and Shahjahan (2001) among other films. They were last seen together on the big screen was in blockbuster hit Bigil. Vivek is survived by his wife Arulselvi Vivek and two daughters, Tejaswani and Amritha Nandini. The younger son of Vivek, Prasanna Kumar, passed away due to dengue and brain fever on October 29, 2015. Vijay is currently shooting for his upcoming film, which is being directed by Nelson. The film has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 65.
