In a tragic bit of news, veteran south actress Kavitha, who has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films, has lost her son Sai Roop to COVID-19.  Sai, who contracted coronavirus a few days ago, succumbed and breathed his last today (June 16). Sai, who was initially put under home isolation, was shifted to the hospital after his condition deteriorated. As per Asianet, Kavitha's husband Dhasathararaj, who was also found COVID-19 positive, is in critical condition. Following the demise of her son, several people in the film industry have been offering their condolences to actress Kavitha and her family.

A known face in the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam film industry, Kavitha has acted in movies such as Aada Paandavulu (2013), Chethilo Cheyyesi (2010), Meenakshi (2005), and Yugalageetham (2010). She has been a part of the Southern film fraternity since she was 11 years old. The now-55-year-old actress has acted in more than 350 movies in Telugu-language, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. Currently, she is playing a key role in the television series Endrndrum Punnagai in Zee Tamil.
