Brazil School Shooting: Two Killed After 13-Year-Old Student Opens Fire at School in Rio Branco
At least two were killed after a 13-year-old student opened fire in the school premises in Brazil's Rio Branco. The incident took place at São José Institute, a junior high school in Rio Branco. The suspect teenager was arrested.
On Wednesday, a suspect teenager entered the school building and opened fire with several shots in a hallway area leading to the principal's office, according to Lieutenant Colonel Felipe Russo of the Acre military police department.
The gunman surrendered to the police after the attack. He used his stepfather's gun 380-caliber. His stepfather was also arrested by the law enforcement department.
The classes at the school have been suspended for three days and psychological support teams have been mobilised to assist students and teachers.
