At least 50 people were killed, and more than 300 were injured, including children, women and medical staff, in Israeli strikes on Monday, September 23, that targeted southern Lebanon, said Lebanon's health ministry, reported news agency Reuters.
Earlier, the Israeli army said it struck about 300 targets across Lebanon today. It also reported injuries in Kfar Hatta, Babliyeh, Kawthariyeh al-Sayyad and al-Ghassaniyah, as well as in the targeting of two residential buildings in the towns of Babliyeh and Sarafand, reported Aljazeera.

Residents in southern Lebanon took to social to post videos and photos that they said showed their towns being struck. Lebanon citizens claimed that Israel attacked their hospitals, schools and other medical facilities, not military targets.

The Israeli military's Arab-language spokesperson said Israel's air force has attacked targets related to Lebanon's Hezbollah militant group. The spokesman said more details would be released later.
The Israel Defense Forces said that they have targeted Hezbollah shelters in Lebanon from the IDF Headquarters Underground Operations Centre and hit 300 targets Monday.

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati issued an official statement over Israel's attack, saying, “The Israeli aggression on Lebanon is a war of extermination and a plan aimed at destroying Lebanese villages and towns.”
