Jamal Khashogi murder case: 5 people sentenced to death
Five people have been sentenced to death in the murder case of Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashogi . During the hearing, the prosecutor said that Saudi's top aide of Shahzade has not been charged in the Khashogi case.
Jamal Khashogi had criticized Wali Ahad in his article in The Washington Post newspaper. Khashogi had gone to Saudi consulate in Turkey on 2 October 2018 to collect important documents necessary to marry his fiancé of Turkish origin. Agents of the Saudi government killed Khashogi inside the consulate and mutilated his body, which is yet to be recovered.
Saudi Arabia charged 11 people for the murder and prosecuted them. However, none of them have been convicted yet. A United Nations report said that Wali Ahad's possible role in the murder should be investigated.
