Pakistani forces killed another Baloch student in Balochistan: Rights group

Quetta, April 4 Another Baloch student was extrajudicially killed in Balochistan by Pakistan forces, according to a leading human rights organisation.

Human rights body Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) mentioned that the dead body of 18-year-old student Ghulam Qadir was found dumped in the Palari area of Gwadar district on April 1, after he had been forcibly disappeared for nearly four months.

According to the rights body, on November 24, 2025, he was taken from the Coast Hospital, Gwadar, by Pakistani forces without any due process.

Condemning the brutal incident, the BYC said that it reflects an ongoing pattern of violence in Balochistan, where the “bodies of Baloch individuals are found daily following enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and targeted attacks, a reality marked by fear, yet met with resistance.”

The rights body called on international human rights organisations and the global community to take immediate notice of the grave human rights situation in the province.

Questioning the silence of the global community on the ongoing atrocities in Balochistan by Pakistani authorities, the BYC said, "We will not forget. We will not stay silent. This is resistance.”

Paank, the Baloch National Movement's Human Rights Department, earlier mentioned that four more civilians, including students, were forcibly disappeared in Balochistan, raising fresh concerns over enforced disappearances in the region.

The rights body strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of a Baloch youth, Kareem, on Thursday from the Joosak area of Turbat in the Kech district.

“This pattern of abduction carried out in broad daylight, involving armed individuals and unidentified vehicles, reflects an ongoing and alarming trend of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Such actions violate fundamental human rights, including the right to liberty, security, and due process, as enshrined in both national and international law,” the rights body stated.

Paank also revealed that a Baloch student, Shayhaq Rahim, was forcibly disappeared on March 31 from the Main Bazar in Turbat by Pakistan-backed death squads.

The rights body said that the abduction of Rahim in broad daylight underlines the prevailing climate of fear and impunity in the region.

In a separate case, another student, Noor Khan, was forcibly disappeared on March 28 by personnel of the Pakistani military from the Pasni area of Gwadar district in Balochistan.

Additionally, the rights body said that one more student, identified as Sameer, was abducted on March 20 from Gwadar by Pakistani Military Intelligence (MI).

Balochistan continues to reel under relentless atrocities by the Pakistani forces, marked by enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch civilians at an unprecedented level.
