US Drops Bunker-Buster Bombs on Iranian Ammunition Depot in Isfahan; Trump Shares Video

US President Donald Trump has shared a video showing a massive explosion in the Iranian city of Isfahan, with a population of 2.3 million and home to the Badr military airbase in the early hours of Tuesday, March 31. The American military has dropped 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs on a large IRGC ammunition depot, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal quoting a US official without naming. 

Trump has posted the same video on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday night, which showed a chain of explosions and fire lighting the night sky.

According to reports, a fire was reported near an Iranian army ammunition depot near Mount Safa in Esfahan, which is said to be one of the country's largest storage sites. 

Vice President of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref, said on Monday that the presence of US military troops on Kharg Island in Iran. "Trump can decide to send troops to Kharg but bringing them back is no longer his decision because no one returns home from hell," the post said.

US said it will complete its military objectives against Iran "in weeks, not months," said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He also warned that Tehran is attempting to control other key waterways. 

Rubio hinted that there have been talks going on with someone from the Iranian side with the US, "primarily through intermediaries." He said Tehran could never have nuclear weapons. Rubio said US forces were “well on our way or ahead of schedule” in achieving their stated objectives, including the destruction of Iran’s air force and navy, and a “significant reduction in the number of missile launchers that they have.”
