The mortal remains of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, was brought to Baramati Medical College following a tragic aircraft crash today morning. Visuals from outside the hospital show heightened security and a somber atmosphere as authorities manage the aftermath of the accident.  The incident occurred when a Learjet 45 aircraft (registration VT-SSK), operated by VSR, was landing in Pune's Baramati area, according to the officials.As per the initial information, the aircraft lost control at the time of landing at the Baramati airport and during the descent, the plane crashed‑landed.

The news of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s plane crash spread rapidly, and the entire city of Baramati was left silent as shops and local markets shut down. Concern for their beloved leader has deeply shaken residents, with emotional scenes unfolding across the city. A large number of NCP workers and supporters gathered at the Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar Government Medical College, many of them seen breaking down in grief.Sensing the gravity of the situation, traders in Baramati voluntarily shut their shops. Thousands of citizens and workers from nearby villages have been heading towards the city. A huge crowd has assembled outside the medical college, with emotional supporters raising slogans and weeping openly. To maintain order, a heavy police deployment has been made across Baramati.

Ajit Pawar was the nephew of veteran politician and NCP founder Sharad Pawar, and the cousin of Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule. Ajit Pawar was the longest serving Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra non-consecutively. He served in the position for six terms within various governments. He had worked as deputy chief minister in the cabinets of Prithviraj Chavan, Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde. He is married to Sunetra Pawar, with whom he has two sons, Jay and Parth Pawar.
