Naigaon Local Arms 1 (LA1) Assistant Police Inspector (API) Balbhim Nanavare's quick thinking and vigilance averted a potential tragedy while he was on his way from Mumbai to Pune for judicial duties. What seemed like an ordinary train journey took a dramatic turn when Nanavare noticed a suspicious individual travelling with an 8-year-old girl.

The kidnapper, attempting to evade suspicion, was seen offering food and toys to the child. However, Nanavare's keen observation skills raised concerns about the duo's relationship, prompting him to intervene. Nanavare initiated inquiries and requested the contact details of the minor's parents. Upon contacting the girl's relatives, shocking information revealed that she had not returned home from school, and the man with her was unknown to the family.

With swift action, API Nanavare caught fellow passengers and sought assistance from Railway Police to apprehend the potential kidnapper. Their collaborative efforts led to the successful apprehension of the suspect, who was promptly handed over to Pune Railway Police for further investigation. The case has been registered at Valiv Police Station.

His astute observation and decisive action prevented a potential abduction, ensuring the safety of the young girl and restoring peace of mind to her family.
