BMC clears salary of 40 Kerala doctors after they complained about non-payment

All the doctors from Kerala who had come to Mumbai to help the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation medical staff in the battle against COVID-19 pandemic were paid their due salaries on Friday evening. 

Also the doctors who had complained about reimbursement of travel expenses have received travel allowance. All the nurses employed have been paid salaries for the month of June. 

According to renowned journalist Faye Dsouza post on Instagram, 5 doctors who had left from Mumbai to join their PG courses. While 4 doctors who had left to rejoin parent institutions from where they had taken leave for hands-on-training. 

Further 2 nurses had left because they wanted to attend personal events and weddings. According to her post nobody from Kerala mission Mumbai team have left due to salary issues.

On Friday, it was reported that at least 40 doctors from Kerala who had come to Mumbai to help the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation medical staff in the battle against COVID-19 pandemic will be returning back home as the BMC has not yet paid their salaries.

Over the past few days the doctors complained that they were not paid salaries and the BMC was not  reimbursing them for their travel expenses.
An official from BMC said the salaries will be credited soon in their bank accounts. “The file is on the move,” an official said.
