The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday released revised testing guidelines in light of the rising number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai. In the revised guidelines, BMC has made the COVID-19 test mandatory for pregnant women who are likely to deliver in the next five days, while at the same time stating that the test is not mandatory for emergency surgery.Revised Testing Guidelines-COVID test not mandatory for emergency surgery-All pregnant women (even asymptomatic)likely to deliver in next 5 days to be tested-COVID test not mandatory for treating haemodialysis patients-Prescription of private/government medical practitioners will suffice

Maharashtra on Wednesday reported the highest number of COVID-19 deaths so far at 105, including 32 in Mumbai, taking the count of overall fatalities to 1,897, a Health official said.

In some good news, while the number of the discharged people is increasing, the doubling rate of COVID-19 cases also improved to 14.7 days from 11.5 in the last week.
