Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh will be questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today in connection with allegations of recovery of Rs 100 crore per month.

He has been issued a notice to be present at the DIO office in Andheri at 11 am to record his statement. On Sunday, Deshmukh's private secretary Sanjeev Palande and his assistant S.K. Kundan was questioned for about eight hours and a reply was recorded.

Now Deshmukh's reply will be recorded. The CBI will then submit its preliminary inquiry report to the High Court on Monday.

The High Court has directed the CBI to conduct a preliminary inquiry and submit a report within 15 days on the allegation made by former police commissioner Parambir Singh that Deshmukh had given a target of Rs 100 crore per month to suspended police officer Sachin Vaze. The former top cop of Mumbai, Param Bir Singh, had levelled serious allegations of Corruption against Deshmukh. In his letter to Thackeray, Singh had alleged that Deshmukh had indulged in "malpractices" and asked Vaze to collect Rs 100 crores every month.
