The Indian Council of Medical Research gave green signal to India's first self-use Rapid Antigen Kits to conduct Covid test at home. Pune-based Mylab Discovery Solutions will launch India's first self-use rapid antigen test (RAT) kit for Covid-19 at Rs 250 per pack. The kit has been named CoviSelf. It will be available in the markets in a week's time.

The approval of the kit will not only prevent covid spread but also the crowd at testing centers.

Although the CoviSelf home Corona test kit is reasonably priced, there are some terms and conditions for its use. After getting this test kit, you will need to download an app from Google Play Store or Apple Store. The name of this app is MyLab Coviself App. You will also find this information on the Coviself test kit.To use self-use Rapid Antigen Test kit 'CoviSelf' you have to download MyLab Coviself App.

The test results will have to be uploaded by home users on their own with the help of an app which is available on Google play store and Apple store. The data in the app of the mobile phone will be centrally captured in a secure server which is connected with the ICMR COVID-19 testing portal, where it will be eventually stored, ICMR said in an advisory.  

It takes 2 minutes to conduct test & 15 minutes to get result. It will be available by end of next week in more than 7 lakh pharmacies & our online pharmacy partners across India. Our target is to reach 90% pin code in India, said Sujeet Jain, Director of Mylab Discovery Solutions. "This test is for self-use. If you test positive via this there's no need for RT-PCR test as per ICMR. Any adult can use this kit by reading our manual," said Sujeet Jain.
