The Tata group has now introduced Crisper Cass technology to detect the virus causing Covid-19. Therefore, the swab of the patient will be obtained more accurately and quickly.ICMR and NABL have approved this lab in Mumbai. This mobile lab is starting in Pune from Friday with the help of this technology.

The Tata CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) test, powered by CSIR-IGIB(Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology) FELUDA, received regulatory approvals on 19 September, 2020 from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for commercial launch, as per ICMR guidelines, meeting high quality benchmarks with 96% sensitivity and 98% specificity for detecting the novel coronavirus.

With the help of this technology, the report comes within two to three hours after taking the swab. At least 500 to 2000 tests are performed in a lab every day for 24 hours. Swab takers have been given an app on their mobile. After filling in information, when the report is ready, it goes to the patient's mail or mobile and on ICMR's portal at the same time.

So it's going to save a lot of time. Moreover, with the help of this technology, UK, South African, Brazilian variants can also be easily checked. - Dr. Vikrant Sangar, Head of Lab.

The score given to find out whether the patient is positive or negative during RTPCR examination is given here as well. If the score is less than 10, the patient will be negative. If it is between 10 and 20, it will be positive with intermediate rik and if it is above 20, it will be said fully positive. A mobile lab with the same technology will be operational in Pune from Friday.
