Former Union minister and BJP leader Dilip Gandhi, who had tested positive for Covid-19, passed away at a private hospital in Delhi on Wednesday. He was 70.

Dilip Gandhi was three-time MP from Ahmednagar constituency. He was also the former Union MoS for Shipping.

He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Delhi. He had also tested positive for corona on Tuesday, after which he was undergoing treatment. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. It is learned that Dilip Gandhi's body will be cremated in Delhi. At the time of his death, his wife and two children were in Delhi with him.

Gandhi has represented the Nagar Dakshin constituency three times. He had been in Delhi for the last few days and breathed his last this morning. Dilip Gandhi started his BJP career from college life. He held the post of President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, City President of Bharatiya Janata Party Ahmednagar. From 1985 to 1999, he was the Deputy Chairman of Ahmednagar Municipality.
