Latur Accident: Two Motorcyclists Dies in High-Speed Collusion Near Tupdi

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two young motorcyclists in Maharashtra’s Nilanga taluka on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place around 3:00 PM on the stretch between Kavtha Pati and Tupdi, where two speeding motorcycles collided head-on. The victims have been identified as Sohel Rahim Shaikh (22), a resident of Shiur Dhanegaon, and Amar Sunil Deshmukh (32), a resident of Gaur Masalga. The accident has been officially registered at the Panchincholi Police Outpost.

According to reports, Sohel was riding his motorcycle (MH 24 Y 9778) towards his maternal village Tupdi, while Amar was travelling on his bike (MH 24 AL 8410) towards Gaur. As both riders approached the same stretch of road at high speed, they reportedly misjudged the road conditions, resulting in a fatal head-on collision. Sohel died on the spot, while Amar succumbed to his injuries later during treatment in Latur.

An Urus festival was being held in Tupdi on Sunday. Sohel’s mother and sister had already left earlier to attend the fair, and he was on his way to join them when the accident occurred. Tragically, he lost his life before reaching his destination. He was the only son in his family. Both Sohel and Amar were unmarried. Amar is survived by his parents and a brother. The incident has left both families in deep shock, while eyewitnesses attribute the crash to overspeeding and misjudgment on the road.
