Maharashtra: MHADA Sets Rs 15,951 Crore Budget for 2025-26, Targets Building 19,497 New Homes

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) budget has set a target to construct a total of 19,497 houses through its divisions in Mumbai, Pune, Konkan, Nashik, Amravati, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and Nagpur. For this, a provision of Rs 9,202.76 crore has been made in the budget. The MHADA budget for the financial year 2025-26 was presented to the authority. The authority has approved a budget of Rs 15,951.23 crore for 2025-26 and a revised budget of Rs 10,901.07 crore for 2024-25.

Housing Construction Plan:

  • Under the Mumbai division, 5,199 houses will be constructed, with a provision of Rs 5,749.49 crore.
  • The Konkan division will see the construction of 9,902 houses, with Rs 1,408.85 crore allocated.
  • Under the Pune division, 1,836 houses will be built with an allocation of Rs 585.97 crore.
  • The Nagpur division will have 692 houses constructed with a budget of Rs 1,009.33 crore.
  • Under the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar division, 1,608 houses will be built with a provision of Rs 231.10 crore.
  • The Nashik division will see the construction of 91 houses with a budget of Rs 86 crore.
  • The Amravati division will have 169 houses built, with Rs 65.96 crore allocated.

Allocations for Specific Projects:

  • Redevelopment of Worli, Naigaon, Parel BDD Chawls: Rs 2,800 crore.
  • Redevelopment of PMGP Colony, Jogeshwari East: Rs 350 crore.
  • Redevelopment of Periphery Creek, Bandra West: Rs 205 crore.
  • Construction of apartments in Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon: Rs 573 crore.
  • Hostel for boys and girls at Jijamata Nagar, Parel: Rs 20 crore.
  • Housing for mill workers: Rs 57.50 crore.
  • Project at Survey No. 160, Borivali: Rs 200 crore.
  • Rehabilitation project in Sanjay Gandhi National Park: Rs 200 crore.
  • Pahadi Goregaon project: Rs 177.79 crore.
  • Malvani Slum Improvement Project: Rs 50 crore.
  • Magathane, Borivali project: Rs 85 crore.
  • Exar Borivali Coast Guard project: Rs30 crore.
  • Redevelopment of Patra Chawl, Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon: Rs 20 crore.
  • Two-story healthcare center and residential housing at Panchpakhadi-Savarkar Nagar, Thane: Rs 15 crore.
  • 100-bed old-age home and hostel for working women at Majiwada-Vivekanand Nagar, Thane: Rs 30 crore.
  • Clubhouse, swimming pool, and land development at Bolinj, Virar: Rs 33.85 crore.
  • Redevelopment of Vartak Nagar, Thane Police Housing Buildings: Rs 90 crore.
  • Gotheghar Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban): Rs 115 crore.
  • Chandrapur Special Planning Authority Project: Rs 371.20 crore.
  • Textile Park, Empress Mill Project: Rs 350 crore.
  • These allocations focus on housing, redevelopment, slum improvement, and infrastructure development across various regions of Maharashtra.
