The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday, May 18, announced the schedule for biennial elections, also known as MLC polls, to 16 seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council under the local bodies quota. According to an official press release, voting for these seats will be held on June 18, 2026.
As per election rules, polls in a local bodies constituency can only be conducted if at least 75% of the local bodies are functional and 75% of the voters remain in office.
