Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray dared Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to contest an election against him in the Worli Assembly seat in Mumbai. Aaditya said, “I have challenged this unconstitutional chief minister that I would resign as MLA from Worli and you contest election against me. Let me see how you win from Worli.”Speaking at a party event, Thackeray also challenged other Sena MLAs and MPs, who rebelled against his father Uddhav Thackeray, to resign and face the voters afresh.

Terming the civic budget as 'Contract and Contractor' driven, AAP’s Mumbai President Preeti Sharma Menon said, “This budget is not for the aam aadmi but is for the contractor lobby. Education, Healthcare and BEST have all seen reduction in budgets.” “The BMC’s budget is an annual ritual aimed at throwing big numbers at Mumbaikars and the political class alike. A closer look at the budget and its utilization year after year reveals a sordid saga of ineptitude and incompetence,” she added. The AAP’s Mumbai president further said that the BMC, clearly, has an unwillingness to spend the money or lacks the capacity to efficiently execute the work in stipulated time. “This is a case of over commitment and under-delivery,” she said.

BMC to revive STP projects at Rs 27,309 crore
The much awaited sewage treatment plant (STP) project of Mumbai is finally set to see the light of the day after 14 years. The project was first conceived in 2009 by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).The idea of constructing STPs was first floated in 2002 during the erstwhile Congress regime, but it was only in 2009 when the project was solidified. The basic idea is to construct STPs in seven locations across the city, including – Worli, Dharavi, Bandra, Versova, Ghatkopar, Bhandup and Malad.
