Suchita Sopte, an Anganwadi worker from Kinle, met a tragic end, her charred remains found alongside a highway in Osargaon. Police have arrested her lover, who confessed to murdering her in a debt-fueled rage. The accused is a resident of Vengurla taluka. Driven by debt, he allegedly lured and killed the woman. According to the police investigation, he first struck her on the head with a car jack (tommy) and then burned her body in Osargaon after pouring petrol.

On February 25th, around 12:15 AM, locals discovered a burning female body alongside the highway in Osargaon. The body was severely burned, with only a leg from the knee down and a hand remaining. While police were searching for the identity of the missing woman, it was reported that Suchita Sopte, an Anganwadi worker from Kinle in Sawantwadi taluka, was missing. Police began their investigation, and the threads of the case began to unravel. Suchita had left her home on February 23rd, saying she was going to a doctor in Kolhapur. Her mobile phone was switched off, and jewelry was missing from the house. Her family filed a missing person report with the police. After investigating the woman's last known location and movements, police determined that the woman found in Osargaon was from Kinle.

The victim's daughter arrived in Kankavli from Mumbai on Thursday and identified her mother's body based on the jewelry. Police then focused their attention on the suspect, who was found to have been in frequent contact with the victim. On Thursday night, police apprehended the suspect while he was traveling towards Belgaum. He confessed to the crime, confirming that the deceased was the Anganwadi worker from Kinle. The accused revealed that he committed the murder due to financial pressures from debt and was on his way to Belgaum to sell the victim's jewelry when he was arrested. The police are being commended for solving the case within a few hours.
