A disturbing case of alleged domestic abuse and exploitation has surfaced from Amravati, where a woman accused her husband and nieces of subjecting her to harassment, threats, and attempts to force her and her daughter into prostitution. According to the police complaint, the victim a 50-year-old woman identified as Sunita alleged that her niece, whom she had raised with motherly affection, repeatedly pressured both her and her daughter to enter the sex trade. The accused niece allegedly taunted her aunt by saying, “Your husband has already left you, now I will find you another boyfriend. Go and live with him.”
The alleged abuse reportedly took place between June 18, 2025, and February 25, 2026. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, the Kholapuri Gate Police Station registered a domestic violence case on May 14 against her husband Vaman , and her nieces Madhuri and Vaishali . As per the complaint, the victim’s husband had abandoned her and allegedly started living with another woman named Vaishali. The woman alleged that instead of supporting her during the difficult period, her niece Madhuri exploited her vulnerable situation and repeatedly attempted to coerce both her and her daughter into prostitution.
The complaint further stated that the victim’s husband allegedly attempted to force himself on her in February 2026. When she resisted, he allegedly assaulted her physically. The woman also accused Vaishali and Madhuri of provoking her husband against her and claimed that she was denied any share from the ₹20 lakh proceeds earned through the sale of ancestral farmland. The husband allegedly misappropriated the victim's Stridhan and ₹20 lakh from her family, leaving her and their daughter destitute. They face physical, mental, and financial hardship. The complaint further alleges that the husband's cohabitant verbally and physically abused the complainant and her children. While the victim was hospitalized for abuse inflicted by her husband, he allegedly told their children that his cohabitant, Vaishali, was his wife and would care for them
