Memorial to Be Built for Late Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar at Vidya Pratishthan in Baramati
A memorial of late Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will be set up on the premises of Vidya Pratishthan, the educational institution founded by the Pawar family in Baramati, a close aide said on Sunday. Ajit Pawar (66) and four others were killed in a tragic plane crash near the airstrip at Baramati airport on January 28, sending shockwaves across Maharashtra and the nation.
Kiran Gujar, a close aide of Ajit Pawar and a confidant of the Pawar family, said the memorial has been planned at Vidya Pratishthan, the same premises where the last rites of the late leader were performed. “The Pawar family has decided to build a memorial at Vidya Pratishthan to honour Ajit Pawar’s life, public service, and contribution to Maharashtra. The institution holds deep emotional significance, as it was founded by the family and was also the site of his final farewell,” Gujar said.
The memorial is expected to serve as a tribute to Ajit Pawar’s political legacy and his commitment to education and social development. Further details regarding the design and timeline of the project will be announced in due course.Ajit Pawar was a towering political figure in Maharashtra, known for his administrative acumen and deep connect with the people of the state, particularly in the Baramati region.
