On Monday night, a bus met with an accident near Navghar flyover on the Eastern Expressway. The bus was allegedly carrying 20 passenger illegally from Airoli in Navi Mumbai to Aurangabad.

A case has been registered at Navghar police station. The passengers of the bus sustained minor injuries in the accident. The driver, owner and agent of a private bus was arrested for violating the Maharashtra government's lockdown rules. 

He has been booked under IPC Sections 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 271 (Disobedience to quarantine rule), 337 (Whoever causes hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life) and 34 (Common intention), along with relevant provisions under the Motor Vehicle Act and the Disaster Management Act. They have been released on bail.
