Nagpur: Heatwave has intensified across the state specially in Vidharbha region. On Friday residents of Nagpur had to endure the highest temperature of the season so far. The city recorded a temperature of 40 degree Celsius, making hottest day of the season till date.
While the Meteorological Department had issued a rain alert on one hand, the residents of Nagpur, on the other, found themselves literally drenched in sweat. It is not just Nagpur; citizens across six districts of Vidarbha including Amravati, Akola, Wardha, Chandrapur, and Washim are distressed as the mercury has soared past the 40-degree mark.
According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, the coming week is expected to bring erratic weather conditions to Vidarbha, including Nagpur. Along with scorching heat, the forecast predicts the possibility of gusty winds and rainfall. Consequently, citizens are advised to remain prepared to protect themselves against both the heat and the rain.
