Palghar Fire: Massive Blaze Engulfs Old House in Nalasopara West, No Casualties Reported
A major fire erupted at an old residential structure in Nalasopara West in Palghar district on Monday around 9:30 pm, triggering panic among local residents. The flames intensified rapidly as large quantities of stored wood and other combustible materials inside the premises fueled the blaze. Thick smoke was seen billowing into the sky, drawing the attention of people in the vicinity. Fire officials promptly rushed to the spot with five fire engines and launched an extensive operation to contain the inferno. After sustained efforts, the fire was brought under control. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported, and authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause.

On February 15, a major fire broke out at around 2 pm at ‘Perfect Container’, a company located in the industrial estate of Ganesh Nagar area in Palghar. According to initial information, solar installation work was underway in the company’s scrap yard at the time of the incident. During the welding process, sparks reportedly fell on plastic tubes, triggering the fire.
As per preliminary reports, the blaze first erupted in the scrap yard of Perfect Container. The company manufactures aluminium and laminated tubes used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. Stocks of gum and thinner, used for coating and printing, intensified the flames. Due to the highly inflammable materials, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed the entire section. Thick black smoke rising into the sky was visible from a distance, creating panic in the surrounding area.
Upon receiving information, fire engines from the industrial estate, Palghar Municipal Council, and another fire brigade unit rushed to the spot. Efforts are underway to douse the flames. As a precautionary measure, the electricity supply in the vicinity has been disconnected, and police personnel are deployed at the site. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
On February 2, a major fire broke out at the Durian Furniture manufacturing unit in the Palghar CIDCO industrial colony on Monday afternoon, causing extensive damage to furniture stock and raw materials. The incident reportedly led to substantial financial losses for the company. According to preliminary information, the blaze erupted at around 1.15 pm and swiftly spread across the entire godown. The rapid escalation was attributed to the presence of large quantities of wood and other highly flammable materials stored inside the factory premises. Thick plumes of black smoke rose into the sky and were visible from several kilometres away, alarming nearby industrial units and residents.
