A Patiala House court in Delhi rejected the bail plea of former IAS Trainee officer Puja Khedkar on Thursday, July 31 who fakeed about her identity to pass the UPSC examination. On Wednesday the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) revoked her selection and banned her from sitting for the exam in the future.

Khedkar's arrest is unlikely anytime soon, although she has the legal option of approaching the Supreme Court against the Court order. This comes after the investigation conducted by UPSC, which found that she had "fraudulently availed attempts beyond the permissible limit under the Examination Rules by faking her identity by way of changing her name, her father's and mother's name, her photograph, and other details.

Puja Khedkar had used a fraudulent address to obtain a disability certificate from Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital. The address she provided belongs to a defunct industrial company in Talawade, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and not a residential area.
