Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Tueday said that positivity rate in state has dropped from 27 to 22%.

We're testing 2.80 lakh persons daily & there's been no shortage in testing. From 63,000, tally for COVID patients have come down to 61,000. At 84.07%, our recovery rate is highest in country, Tope said.

Meanwhile, Tope on Monday urged Serum Institute of India Chief Executive Officer Adar Poonawalla to give priority to the state in providing its anti-coronavirus vaccine as the government was ready to purchase doses from the Pune-based company. He said the Maharashtra government was even ready to purchase Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V.

Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi are among 10 states that account for 71.71 per cent of the 3,57,229  new COVID-19 cases in the country, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
