Sangli Horror: Girl Dies After Being Hung Upside Down Overnight Over Theft Suspicion; Father Held

Maharashtra: In a disturbing incident in Sangli district, a 10-year-old girl reportedly lost her life after being subjected to torture by her father over suspicion of theft. Accused identified as Dadu alias Nana Yamgar a farmer, has been apprehended. As per the PTI, official said that, he allegedly hung his daughter upside down inside their house and kept her in that position throughout the night over suspicion of stealing money from a relative's place in Maharashtra's Sangli district.  

Police further revealed that the man also subjected his 11-year-old elder daughter to similar abuse. She survived the ordeal and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident came to light on Thursday after doctors in Atpadi taluka alerted the police about the death of the girl, identified as Rutuja.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter and are taking necessary legal action.
