Solapur Tragedy: Multani Bakery Owner Sunil Sadarangani Dies After Jumping from 17th Floor on Vizapur Road

A tragic incident unfolded in Solapur on Thursday afternoon when Sunil Motilal Sadarangani, a 59-year-old well-known businessman and owner of the popular Multani Bakery, lost his life after jumping from a high-rise building. The incident occurred at approximately 4 pm at the Panas Apartment complex located on Vizapur Road. Sadarangani, a familiar name in Solapur’s business circles, was reportedly seen on the 17th floor of the building moments before the incident. The shocking event has left residents and the local business community deeply disturbed.

As per police officials and eyewitness accounts, Sadarangani’s behaviour appeared unusual, prompting residents to alert the building’s staff. A watchman along with an office employee went to the upper floors and attempted to speak to him calmly. They were initially successful in bringing him down to the 10th floor, where he mentioned that his car keys were missing. However, within moments, he suddenly ran back towards the upper floors. Before anyone could intervene or restrain him, he jumped from the building.

A brief video captured by an onlooker surfaced shortly after the incident, showing Sadarangani with folded hands, appearing to pray moments before the fatal jump. Police were immediately informed, and senior officers rushed to the location. He was found in a critical condition and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities confirmed his identity through a vehicle parked at the apartment complex, which was registered in his name.

Sunil Motilal Sadarangani was a respected entrepreneur and the proprietor of Multani Bakery, one of Solapur’s most established and widely recognised food businesses. Over the years, the bakery earned a strong reputation and loyal clientele for its quality products. Although he had shifted to Pune a few years ago due to business and personal commitments, he remained closely associated with his enterprise. Those who knew him described him as soft-spoken, diligent, and deeply committed to his work and responsibilities.

Police revealed that Sadarangani had been under stress in recent days, though the exact reasons are yet to be determined. A case has been registered at the Civil Police Station, and investigations are currently underway. Officials are reviewing CCTV footage from the premises and recording statements from witnesses to piece together the sequence of events. Family members have been informed and have reached the hospital. The incident has once again underscored the importance of mental health awareness, even among accomplished professionals.
