Suspected Paper Leak in Maharashtra HSC Chemistry Exam After Questions Found on Student’s Phone
Authorities are probing a possible paper leak in the ongoing Maharashtra State Board Class 12 examinations after questions from the Chemistry paper were allegedly found circulating on WhatsApp. The development surfaced in Nagpur following the exam conducted on February 18.
The issue came to light when an examination supervisor grew suspicious of a female candidate who was making repeated visits to the washroom during the test. Upon checking, invigilators reportedly confiscated a mobile phone and discovered a WhatsApp message containing questions that closely matched those in the Chemistry question paper.
Shivling Patve, Chairman of the Nagpur Divisional Board, confirmed that an FIR has been lodged and the police are investigating the matter. He stated that while the authorities are examining the case, the board will also conduct its own internal inquiry and submit a report to senior officials.
It remains unclear whether the student had the mobile phone with her inside the examination hall or had concealed it in the washroom for access during the exam. The board has indicated that surveillance and vigilance measures will be strengthened to prevent such incidents in future examinations.
