One of the five takhts in Sikhism, Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchal Nagar Sahib of Maharashtra's Nanded, on Monday announced that all the gold collected in the last five decades will be donated to start a large-scale medical college and hospital.

The gold will be used to supply medical supplies for the hospitals. The last few days have seen a nationwide shortage of oxygen. Many have been killed due to it. Even then, several gurdwara management committees came forward and arranged for free oxygen.

During the Corona period, many Gurdwara Management Committees across the country had arranged everything from food to beds and oxygen to help the people. A day ago, the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee started the Covid Care Center in the hall of Gurdwara Sri Bhatt Sahib in Rupnagar. The center was inaugurated by Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee chief Jagir Kaur on May 23.

Earlier, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, chairman of the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee, had said that the langar service has been started on behalf of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in view of the increasing number of lockdown and corona patients. The Corona victim's family, who can't make their own meals, can't even afford to eat.

The langar tiffin are being delivered to their home. In this regard, Delhi Gurdwara Samiti has also started a helpline number. Families who want langar tiffin at their home can contact Delhi Gurdwara Samiti through phone number. The committee will arrange for the langar to be delivered to their home.
