Central Railway Announces Special Power and Traffic in Lonavala, Long-Distance and EMU Trains Affected

Mumbai – The Central Railway has announced special traffic and power blocks for the launch of four steel girders as part of the proposed construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) on the Lonavala-Malavali section. The bridge will replace Level Crossing Gate No. 32 at Km. 128/16-17, enhancing railway infrastructure and safety.

The special block will impact the regulation of long-distance trains and result in the short termination of EMU services between April 6 and April 8, 2025. The detailed impact on train services is as follows:

Block 1: April 6, 2025 (Sunday) | 1:05 pm– 4.05 pm

Regulation of Mail/Express Trains:

22159 CSMT-Chennai Express – Halted at Lonavala until 4:05 pm

17222 LTT-Kakinada Express – Halted at Karjat until 3:20 pm

22194 Gwalior-Daund Express – Halted at Chauk for 10 minutes

Short-Termination/Origination of EMU Trains:

99814 Pune-Lonavala EMU & 99816 Shivaji Nagar-Lonavala EMU – Short-terminated at Malavali

99813 Lonavala-Pune EMU & 99815 Lonavala-Shivaji Nagar EMU – Short originated from Malavali
