IndiGo Delhi-Mumbai Flight: Minor Technical Snag Detected Mid-Air, Aircraft Lands Safely at CSMIA

An IndiGo aircraft operating a domestic service encountered a minor technical issue while approaching Mumbai on Friday morning, according to official information. The A321neo aircraft, deployed on flight 6E 2157 from Delhi, was carrying over 210 passengers at the time of the incident. The issue was detected during the flight, after which the pilots adhered to established safety protocols. The aircraft subsequently landed safely at the Mumbai airport (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport) without any harm to passengers or crew. Aviation officials confirmed that the situation was managed smoothly, and there was no disruption to airport operations following the safe landing.

IndiGo later conveyed that the technical snag identified on flight 6E 2157 on February 6, 2026, was minor in nature and did not compromise safety. The airline stated that its flight crew followed all standard operating procedures, ensuring a secure landing. After arrival, the aircraft underwent routine inspections and required maintenance checks. Following these procedures, the same aircraft was cleared to resume operations with a slight delay. The airline reiterated that passenger safety, crew welfare, and aircraft security remain its highest priorities and that all necessary precautions are taken whenever such issues arise.

IndiGo spokesperson said, "A minor technical snag was detected on IndiGo flight 60 2157 operating from Delhi to Mumbai on 06 February 2026. The pilots followed standard operating procedures and the aircraft landed safely. The same aircraft operated with a slight delay after routine checks and necessary maintenance were performed. At IndiGo, safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft are our topmost priorities."

In a separate incident earlier this week, an Air India and an IndiGo aircraft were involved in a minor ground incident at Mumbai airport while taxiing, officials reported. The occurrence took place on February 3 when an Air India flight bound for Coimbatore and an IndiGo flight arriving from Hyderabad were moving on intersecting taxiways. During this process, the right wingtips of both aircraft made contact. Authorities stated that no injuries were reported, all passengers were safe, and both aircraft were taken back to their bays for inspection, with one aircraft grounded as a precaution.
