Mumbai: 23-Year-Old Killed in Fight Over Marathi vs Bhojpuri Song at New Year Party in Mira Road
A dispute over song choice during a New Year's Eve celebration in Mira Road turned deadly, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man. The clash erupted around 3 a.m. at a housing complex in the MHADA area.
According to police, tensions arose when two groups disagreed over whether to play a Marathi or Bhojpuri song. The argument escalated when some individuals began attacking others with bamboo and iron rods.

Raja Periyar was struck on the head with a wooden stick during the altercation and later succumbed to his injuries at KEM Hospital. His associate, Vipul Rai, was also attacked with an iron rod. Both men suffered serious injuries.
The local Kashimira police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Several individuals, including Ashish Jadhav, Amit Jadhav, Prakash Jadhav, and Pramod Yadav, are suspected of being involved in the attack. Police are currently gathering evidence and conducting an autopsy on Periyar's body.
