Mumbai Accident: 60-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Run Over by BEST Bus in Antop Hill, Driver Booked

A tragic road accident in the Antop Hill area claimed the life of a senior citizen. A BEST bus rammed into a man who was carrying a banana cart, throwing him several feet away from the accident spot. The deceased has been identified as Dukhilal Saroj (60). The police have issued a notice to the BEST bus driver in connection with the incident.

According to the police, the incident took place on March 23 around 4:30 PM when the elderly man was out selling bananas. Suddenly, a speeding BEST bus hit him, leaving him critically injured. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police were informed about the incident and subsequently registered an FIR under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The Antop Hill police are currently investigating the case.

As per police sources, a notice has been issued to the bus driver, identified as Sambhaji Rane (30). In addition to culpable homicide, he has also been booked for negligence and rash driving. However, the police are still investigating the exact speed of the bus at the time of the accident. The case was registered following a complaint by Viraj Sathe at the police station.
