A road accident was reported on the iconic Bandra-Worli Sea Link in the early hours of Saturday, April 11, 2026, at around 1:50 am. A BMW car lost control while heading northbound and collided with another vehicle. A video of the incident has also surfaced, clearly capturing the moment of the crash. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the accident.

Upon receiving information, the Worli Police rushed to the spot. Based on a complaint filed by Ramdas Patil, the police have registered a case against the BMW driver, identified as 18-year-old Harshad Rapuria. An FIR has been lodged against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 121 (voluntarily causing hurt), Section 125 (act endangering human life due to negligence), and Section 324(4) (mischief causing damage). Additionally, action has also been taken under Section 184 (dangerous driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

 

The accident caused temporary disruption in traffic movement on the sea link, affecting vehicular flow for some time. However, police officials managed to clear the damaged vehicles and restore normal traffic. Authorities stated that a detailed investigation is currently underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
